Donald Trump has claimed that the Spanish Flu 'in 1917' was 'probably' what ended the Second World War.
But that war ended in 1945, with the pandemic actually occurring the same year as the end of the First World War - 1918 - meaning the US President managed to make two bungles at once.
Mr Trump was speaking at a White House press briefing when he said: 'The closest thing is in 1917, they say, the great pandemic. It certainly was a terrible thing where they lost anywhere from 50 to 100 million people, probably ended the Second World War.'
