In the modern battlefield, troops might have to fight an enemy in the vast subways and water systems underneath huge cities, or in the pitch-black tunnels guarding the North Korean defensive line. A new Army program aims to get them ready.
Soldiers from the 82nd Airborne Division, 1st Brigade Combat Team undergo specialized training to prepare them to fight modern war underground by learning subterranean warfare operations and tactics to fight in sewers or subways beneath mega cities. Soldiers learned breaching techniques as well as using military dogs and robots to find the enemy.
